EUROSTAR CONNECTIONS- EUROSTAR TO LYON

Lyon is the second largest metropolitan city in France. Situated east centrally , the city is at a distance of 470 km from Paris , 600 from Barcelona ,320 from Marseille,160 Geneva , 280 from Turin. The population census of Lyon is around 480500. the city has a vast influence on the history of France . The city is famous for its architectural landmarks and is in the list of UNESCO”S World heritage sites. Lyon is also famous for its production of silk woven goods , and is nicknamed as the capital of culture and food .

Culture: the culture of Lyon is typical french . The regional language is french .the is lively and on every 8th of December festival of lights is celebrated .the church of st Frances of sales is famous for its Cavaille -coll pipe organ and is worth seeing it play. Opera house known as the Opera Nouvel and the African museum of Lyon are the important sights to be explored.

Places to visit: auditorium ,opera for music and the theatre for drama . cinemas are another place to get entertaned with various movie theatres .
Sports : Stade de Gerlande is the home of Olympique Lyonais fc and various local teams and jogging city.
Lyon is famous for its food and wine so , it is home for many fine restaurants which can be visited to have one the finest food and wines In the world .


HOW TO GET THERE:

By train : Lyon is equipped with two railway stations ie Lyon part Dieu and Lyon perrache which is older to the latter . Eurostar connects London to Lyon covering the Lyon perrache train station with Eurostar also connecting London to(Lille,Paris,Brussels, Marseille,Montpelier)  . If you are travelllig to london then eurostar is at your service. Total journey from Lyon to london is 5 hrs 30 min
